Greetings! Quick update here on my plan for the coming months. In 2024 I expect to return to a more frequent cadence for analysis and visualization, now that I’ve made some back-end changes to the site. Some of the data sources I’m looking forward to using regularly include the following, with a brief description of the available data:
- Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) for general US economic metrics
- Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for employment related data
- Census Bureau for demographic and population data
- Detroit Open Data Portal for a wide variety of Detroit data sets
- The GDELT Project for news reporting information
- Pew Research for a variety of survey-related data
- Realtor.com for housing sales patterns
- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for corporate financial information
- WalkFree for modern slavery data
- World Health Organization (WHO) for international health issues
There are many others likely to come, but the above sources should keep me busy for awhile :). Definitely looking forward to creating some interesting new content. Stay tuned.
